Merseyside Woodturners Association

Merseyside Woodturners Association is a woodturning club started in 1993 by a group of people with a shared interest in turned wood. They wanted to share and expand their knowledge of the craft so, with this in mind, they formed the association.
If you would like to start an interesting new hobby or further your existing knowledge and improve your woodturning technique, then the club is always ready to welcome new members. Come along to one of our meetings and experience woodturning in the friendly atmosphere of a woodturning club with people sharing your interest.

Workshop Update

The workshop will now be open on Tuesday afternoons, from 12am to 4pm, as well as Wednesdays and Saturdays.
This is for members only and the charge will be £4.00.

Club Meetings

Meetings are held at Huyton British Legion on the last Tuesday of each month, starting at 7.30pm. To see where this is on a map, click the pic or here for the map. You will have to allow active content in your browser.
Each club evening consists of a demonstration followed by a meeting of club members. The guest demonstrators bring their own individual focus on an aspect of woodturning or woodworking, according to the area of their expertise. The subjects range from bowl turning and hollow forms to spindle turning. This leads to a comprehensive program covering all aspects of woodturning.

Show Reports

Our club participates in woodworking and woodturning events, exhibitions and sales of our work around the country. This means that our members have an opportunity to meet other woodturners and share in the general woodturning community. Whilst demonstrating at these events, our members can interact with, encourage and advise members of the public who show an interest in woodturning.
