Clubs and Associations

ARIZONA WOODTURNERS ASSOCIATION   

AWA have a well designed website with a large gallery. Their catch phrase of "Let the chips fly" sums up their highly motivated approach. This is a site which deserves a visit to see how it's done.


AVALON WOODTURNERS GUILD   

This is a small group of woodturners based out on the furthest edge of Canada, on the Avalon peninsula of Newfoundland. Surpisingly for such a remote place, they have a strong club membership, go on, take a look at how the Newfoundlanders do it.


CORNWALL ASSOCIATION OF WOODTURNERS   

This cornish website doesn't just have one gallery, it has lots of individual galleries for its members. Take a look at the articles page and you will find some interesting reading.


KANSAS CITY WOODTURNERS   

American woodturners, from Kansas City, host this site with a wide range of interesting content. They have all their monthly newsletters, past and present stored online. This provides a library of information about the club and woodturning.


NORTHERN FEDERATION OF WOODTURNING GROUPS   

NFWG is an umbrella organisation representing woodturning clubs in the UK. It encourages communication between individual clubs, writes a newsletter and also arranges exhibitions, competitions, seminars and provides public liability insurance for its members.


WEST PENNINE WOODTURNERS   

The West Pennine woodturners organise their own woodturning competition every four months, they choose a subject and get turning, which means the members need to be keen. Some of the competition entries are shown on their web site.



Woodturning sites

NICK AGAR   

Nick Agar's large-scale, multi-textured turned wood sculptures have earned him a reputation for producing highly individual, beautifully crafted art.


YVONNE ARLOTT   

Yvonne turns out work of an extremely high standard, at the age of only twenty-two she has been accepted onto the Register of Professional Turners. Her current designs feature piercing and the use of twists.


MICHAEL BROLLY   

Michael Brolly is a woodturning sculptor. Take a look at his work it's amazing. This is a good place to look for inspiration for your woodturning projects.


BOB CHAPMAN   

Bob Chapman is a West Yorkshire based turner, who produces both utilitarian and artistic pieces. His site contains some useful information for woodturners, together with the images of his work.


RICHARD HOOPER   

Richard Hooper's woodturning is abstract sculptural, his work relies on an appreciation of geometry, mathematical models, astronomy and structures within civil engineering and architecture.
Richard is also Associate Professor in Fine Art and Design at Liverpool Hope University.


TOBIAS KAYE   

Tobias Kaye is a professional woodturner famous for his turned sounding bowls.


GARY RANCE   

Gary is considered one of the fastest and accurate woodturners in the UK and is one of only a few whose income comes solely from woodturning.


BOB NEILL   

Each piece of Bob's work, including bowls and plates, is an exploration of line, pattern, texture, tone and colour.


OYVIND-RIISE   

This Norwegian woodturner works in the local timbers of Aspen, Birch and Elm with lots of photos in his gallery.


ANN PORTER   

Ann Porter is one of that small group - a female woodturner, she is also a Merseyside Woodturners member.


NEIL RAINE   

The website of one of our members, Neil Raine, who offers a range of turned items and wooden gifts for sale. His work has been featured in HELLO MAGAZINE.


LEIGH & JO RIHAN   

These two are a husband and wife team living and working within Pembrokeshire National Park, Wales, UK. They run woodturning classes at their workshop set amongst the beautiful scenery of South Wales.


EDUARDO SARMIENTO H.   

Eduardo Sarmiento is a left-handed woodturner based in Peru. He turns the wonderful and exotic local woods on a homemade lathe.


ANDI WOLFE   

Andi Wolfe is a botanist by day and a woodturner in the evenings. Her work focuses on the use of surface enhancements that employ botanical motifs.


MALCOLM ZANDER   

Malcolm Zander's pierced work looks just like lace, you have to see it to belive it.
