THE CLUB

History

The club was formed in 1993 by twelve like-minded people who sought a common forum for their interest in woodturning.

Since its formation, the club has grown steadily and now, in this new millenium, our membership numbers near 100.

Objectives

Our main objective is to enable our members to talk to others who share a common interest and similar experience. This helps to alleviate the isolation of what is essentially a solitary pursuit. Our contact with people inside and outside the club provides a broad source of help and advice.

As part of our policy to promote woodturning, the club participates in various shows and exhibitions around the country. This enables us to talk with and encourage members of the public who show an interest. For details see Show Reports.

Newsletter

The club has published a newsletter since its inception in 1993. It is a vital part of our infrastructrure and keeps all our members informed about the running of the club.

The publication is a great credit to its editor, Chris Thorpe. Please feel free to contact Chris with any contributions or to be added to our mailing list.

Worldwide newsletters

The following section is a collection of newsletters from various clubs. It is designed to show how other clubs function and what issues are important to them. The documents are updated on an "as and when" basis.
Some of the files are quite large as they contain a complete newsletter and therefore can take longer than a usual page to download.

The club meets at :-

The Royal British Legion Club
